What is the meaning behind the moniker "Civility Grouch"?
It has two parts:
  • Civility because I think civility is a laudable precept. As the generations pass, we seem to lose our civility. It is not (necessarily) a systemic desire to be crass, it is about changes in our social systems that seem to encourage a lack of civility.
  • Grouch because I am an old grouch who does not see the value in our present willingness to ignore time-honored truth being very sure we as modern souls know better than anyone that came before us. This willingness to posit "new" as being more valuable than "worthy".
